The growth of peanuts does not originate from the roots

Do you know why this peanut is called a peanut? Although they are all born to mothers, humans are born to mothers, animals are born to mothers, and peanuts are born to peanuts, which is the origin of peanuts.

Puff... Just a joke!

In fact, peanuts, also known as peanuts, are very familiar to everyone. But it should be noted that falling flowers are more important in many places, also known as "falling flowers". These names already vividly illustrate the growth process of peanuts, and many people believe that peanuts grow from their roots.

NO, that's not the case!

After fertilization of peanuts, a needle shaped object will be differentiated from the base of the ovary, namely the ovary stalk, and its top is the ovary. This needle shaped object is also called the fruit needle. Because the fruit needle can feel the stimulation of gravity, it will stubbornly and slowly extend into the soil, and send the zygote to the soil. The ovary will continue to grow in the soil, gradually expand, and eventually become a pod, that is, a peanut.

Why stubbornly bury one's own ovary underground? How good is it to bask in the sun?

Researchers have found that in order for the ovaries at the tip of a fruit needle to develop into a qualified peanut, two basic conditions need to be met: one is a dark environment, and the other is mechanical stimulation. The tip of a fruit needle can only develop into an excellent peanut after being subjected to mechanical stimulation such as cruel compression and obstruction of soil in a dark environment.

In addition, the dark environment can also inhibit the elongation of fruit needles, preventing them from drilling too deep, otherwise it will be difficult to harvest. If the fruit needles are rebellious, they want to bathe in the sun and do not want to enter the soil. Although sunlight can promote the growth of fruit needles, it can inhibit the development of the ovary, so it ultimately cannot grow peanuts.

However, even so, its seeds can develop and mature in dark environments, so they do not require too much sunlight.

Of course, in addition to light and mechanical stimulation, factors such as water, oxygen, temperature, soil, texture, and nutrition also have a significant impact on the development of peanut pods.

For a long time, there have been different views on the origin of peanuts. Most scholars believe that they originated in South America, while others believe that they originated in China. Some people believe that peanuts are native to Africa.

Later, after various textual research by people, it was basically confirmed that peanuts originated in South America. Even before Columbus arrived in the Americas, peanuts had already been planted everywhere in South America. However, when the American continent was not discovered, peanuts began to spread to various parts of the world. Later, they were introduced to China through Southeast Asia, around the mid to late Ming Dynasty. During the 16th to 19th centuries, some other American crops also came to China along with peanuts.

When the American continent was not discovered, it began to spread throughout the world and then entered China from Southeast Asia, probably in the mid Ming Dynasty. From the 16th to the 19th century, with the introduction of peanuts, other crops from the Americas also emerged in China, and peanuts came to China one after another.
